1. Sharing my Inner Nerd

Professional:

During college, I spent ten years working with large corporations – including Best Buy, U.S. Bank and Wells Fargo – as an Administrator, Analyst and Computer Training Expert.  I've designed complex spreadsheets, databases and documents that are still being used by the company I created them for.  I saved the companies I've worked for millions of dollars annually and reduced operational costs by improving their systems or reporting procedures.  I've also created hundreds of pages of documentation and instructions for my job and others.
After teaching a couple classes at my previous employer, I knew that teaching was my thing.  I am now offering my technology training services to people like you!  I will work with you at your desired location, on your time schedule and at your pace.

Personal
:

I grew up  in St. Paul and graduated from Harding; then I spent a couple years serving in the United States Navy.  Once I was Honorably Discharged, I attended Metropolitan State University where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Training Frameworks and Liberal Arts.  My wife Tammy and I live in the St. Paul area with our two dogs and a cat.  I enjoy disc golfing, skiing, playing video games and doing other nerdy/geeky things.  I am also involved in volunteer work by participating in the Adopt a Highway program, where I help ensure the highway stays clean.  My section is located on Highway 52 about 12 miles south of the cities.

I've been doing nerdy things most of my life and in the summer of 2001 I became interested in the movie 'Contact'.  I was just browsing the Internet and found out that the SETI organization really does exist http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/.  SETI receives too much information for their computers to handle so they ask for volunteers to install a small program and essentially 'decode' the information and send it back.  I've been a participating member since August 2001 and recently received a certificate for the amount of work I've done.
